Kamakura Station Map – Finding Your Way

Kamakura Station is the main access point for Kamakura and is a convenient stopping off point for dining and shopping on the Komach-dori and Wakamiya Oji shopping streets as well as for several popular tourist sites such as Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kamakura Museum of National Treasures and Kamakura Museum of History and Culture.

The station is divided into two parts: one part which is operated by JR East and the other which is operated by Enoshima Electric Railway (also called Enoden). Many people will use JR East to travel to Kamakura from places like Tokyo and Yokohama. They will then use the local Enoden railway line to further explore Kamakura and the nearby seaside area of Enoshima.

The JR East and Enoden parts of Kamakura Station are directly connected, and the station building is not so big, so it is very easy to find one’s way around.

This article will explain the general layout of Kamakura Station, so that you can quickly access the station’s information and ticketing services and easily find your platform.

General Orientation – Ticket Gates

Kamakura Station can be accessed from the east or west side. JR East has ticket gates at both the East and West Entrances, with a concourse inside the ticket gates that links both sides of the station.
